ARTIST: A Sound Of Thunder
ALBUM: The Lesser Key Of Salomon
RELEASE DATE: 09/09/2014
The Washington D.C based metal/rock progressive band A Sound Of Thunder is about to release their new album “The Lesser Key Of Salomon” their latest project since the release of “Times Arrow” in 2013, and here at Broken Neck Radio, we got the chance to review it previous to it’s release and it’s quite good.
The 10 track album is a explosion of pure classic progressive hard rock. The lyrics of the record take you into a mystical voyage full of powerful distorted guitar riffs, amazing drum beating and a killer bass and all that amazing music led by the powerful voice of female frontman Nina Osegueda.
The 4 members band formed in 2008, has declared several times their influences on bands like Iron Maiden, Dio, Black Sabbath and Helloween and “The Lesser Key Of Salomon” is without doubt an amazing tribute to them.
After a brief two minute intro on the first track, comes their first single “Udoroth” which is a great song, it easily reminds me of any Dio work. The band recently released a very cool animated video for the song and you can check it out here: http://youtu.be/yetRJ9aAyvc
The band plays way too good but Ninas performance is a must in the record. “Udoroth” and “Master Of Pain” are my favorites of the record but also check out her screams on the track “Blood from the Mummy's Tomb” they are just simply amazing.
I really recommend this album if you are into the nostalgic classic rock/metal times. You won’t regret it.
