Hello, everyone! It’s time for a review from the one and only Cptncomplicated. This time, I had the pleasure of listening to a death/grind album form the band Sunlight’s Bane. Their recent release, TBVLATEWB, comes out in just a few days: The album cover as black as the music.
The album starts off jamming your ear drum with some incredible drum work. The percussion throughout the album is top-notch. At times you are wondering weather the drummer is banging on a drum set, or on a metal pipe as he tortures the pour soul unlucky enough to be in the same room. Either way, you are happy. The guitar work, however, leaves much to be desired. At times, you are wondering if they are trying to be experimental, cool, or just plain awkward. The vocals do their job just fine.
Sunlight’s Bane is holding a release show at The Sanctuary in Detroit. These Michigan natives definitely have a reason to throw a party for this album: In true death metal fashion, the whole album bashes your face in. Load it up. Hit play. Enjoy.
