5-piece metal band from Victoria B.C. Canada. Atrous Leviathan's sound spans the history of the metal genre. Every song a time warp from blistering blast beat to solid grooves to atmospheric breakdowns Atrous Leviathan will continue to give you a reason to keep coming back. The band's live show will even have those not akin to the metal genre banging their head.
Formed in 2010 by ex-drummer Jon Patterson, the Canadians’ of Atrous Leviathan banded together to break into the Vancouver Island metal scene. Clashing their respective influences (ranging from Dimmu Borgir to Korpiklaani and every thrash/death beat in between) together to forge the Atrous Leviathan sound. After playing their first show with Corpse Corrosion’s Tribune, things quickly came together for the band.
The band built a strong foundation of fan with their energetic and unison live performance sure to make even the people in the back to bang there head. Their following continued to grow as the band finally worked their way to play with local giants Scimitar and then Unleash the Archers. Whether or not the venue is packed, Atrous Leviathan always gives their all into every performance. Over the short course of which the band has been playing they have already shared the stage with bands such as West of Hell (Reversed Records), Archspire (Season of Mist), and Skeletonwitch (Prosthetic Records).
After venturing off the island twice and a slight change in line-up the band finally released their demo titled “Troll Fire” in early 2013. “Troll Fire,” received a couple independent reviews (link below) as to how it was received. With the release under the band’s belt they continued to work on their sound, grabbing ideas from the past and future of the metal genre. The band once again left the island the following summer to carry their sound of new and old as far as Edmonton with stops on the way then back to play at Armstrong Metal Fest. Atrous Leviathan now looks to the release of their full-length debut that they have been work on for some time now, as well as a stronger future in touring.
The Band says about playing AMF 2017 :
Ever since we played AMF in 2013 we've been wanting to get back. And this year we've been invited back and we couldn't be more excited! The lineup this year is impressive, and we are looking forward to every minute of it! See you in the pit!
