Yes, the rumours are true and we are excited to officially announce our next documentary: Soundgarden!
Next year, we start production on the first-ever feature doc on one of American’s biggest hard rock bands. We first met Soundgarden while working on the Grunge episode of our series Metal Evolution but this time we’ll be digging deep into their history and comeback for a full-length film. And we need help from Soundgarden fans in our search for great archival material to tell their story:
If you have rare Soundgarden material – personal photos, bootleg audio or video, concert posters, etc. – we want to hear from you. Please send a description of what you’ve got to info at Banger Films with the subject “Soundgarden Fan Submission.”
We are also stoked to announce that our infamous Metal Family Tree is finally available to purchase. (Click here to order!)
The limited-edition poster is a giant 46”x28”, in full colour with silver ink. Only 666 were made and each is signed and hand-numbered by myself and Scot McFadyen. For years we’ve been hearing from fans who wanted to hang this in their homes /jam rooms and we know that his piece will continue to spark feverish debate about bands and genres. Let the metal debates rage on!
As the year winds down I also wanted to once again thank you for all your support and feedback. (Yes, we read your emails, and comments on our Facebook, Twitter and Youtube.) Next year marks the 10th anniversary of our first film, Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey. It's hard to believe it's already been 10 years since I met Bruce Dickinson on the stage of the Hammersmith Odeon, or went to Ronnie James Dio's house, or got berated by Necrobutcher at Wacken (!). And it’s a journey that has continued in great part because of the incredible support of the metal community. Banger is still here because you guys have stuck with us.
We've got some very exciting things planned for 2015 - we're thinking big at Banger - and I can't wait to share it all with you.
Wherever you are in the world, sending good wishes to you and your family for the holidays. See you on the other side.
