Pandemonium is the title and it's a very fitting one at that. Not only is this the heaviest Conspiracy to date, it could very well be the heaviest thing either Cavalera brother has done, period. Converge bassist Nate Newton lends his skilled hands to the outing and so does fellow Soulfly guitarist Marc Rizzo.
Babylonian Pandemonium kicks off the album the only way it can; with utmost ferocity. This isn't just your regular singing Max. This is the deep throated growling Max, hitting registers he hasn't hit in a very long time.
Tracks like Bonzai Kamikaze and Apex Predator even harken back to the days of old school Sepultura; something that I laud as some of the greatest metal ever written. The Brothers Cavalera have done an absolute stand up job with this release and any doubters that may have existed before this album will be willfully and skillfully executed for thinking so with this brutal metal attack.
Marc Rizzo does an amazing job here as he proves that he is a super underrated guitar player. His shred solos and superb riffing almost take the spotlight away from the brothers. Some serious talent is on that mans plate.
Igor also shows how much of a force he is in the metal world. He's one of the finest drummers around and the sheer pounding and assault on your ears are very welcome.
All in all, this is without a doubt my favorite CC album and also ranks very high on my all time list of best Max Cavalera albums.
4.5 / 5 without question. Please go pick it up when it releases on Nov. 4 in North America. If you're in Europe, you're already late to the party as it came out on Halloween.
