“Primordial Dawn” opens things up with a classic piano intro segueing to a primal warrior drumbeat on track two “Tusk”. Thick and rich with plenty of guitar chops, vocals bearing from harsh and hellacious, to a harmonized angst, a full on powerhouse. ( Imagine Devildriver and Trivium produced a bastard child that was like rain-man shredding notes!)
“Of Prometheus And The Sacred Flame” is a fantastic song full of powerful blast beats, commanding rhythm, exquisite guitar runs, all driven by Christian Theriens’ raw and scouring vocals. “War Of The Gods” is a turbulent ride with plenty of time changes and progressive rage, intertwined with a barrage of bass-end charisma that’ll make your subwoofers smile ;} Many pinch harmonic /power cord anthems and clean vocal choruses with transitioning key changes brings this track to full throttle!
Gripping death metal thrash with a melodic swagger-rager sums up “As The Sky Falls”. Full of heavy dynamics combined with memorable melody and chorus that shines, yet overall brutal! One of my favorite songs on this disc. With face melting speed “Resurrection” slams the listener’s ear holes with metal-mosaic beauty, unleashing a vibrant monolith masterpiece. Relentless and hammering heavy metal with a bright and uplifting spirit, definitely a contender/foreboding truth within the lyrics compel this anthem to be heard. Stellar \m/
A haunting tune called “Through Darkness And Decay” bares its soul on track seven. A slow ominous opening that bursts into a metal hailstorm midway through, ascending with ripping guitar runs and mammoth harmonized melody. The combination of slower tempo and progressive impulses; do not categorize this as a ballad. But yeah, Staind ain’t got nothing on this. Metalcore fans take note of “Into Oblivion” featuring Pascal Jobin rounding out this monstrous mind bending track. A very satiable onslaught of metal music, that will pump your trunk subs when your about town; again and again!
Topping off all expectations “New World” smashes your cranium with a cross-section of metal creativity and talent, awakening senses and primal urges to rage out against society’s restraints. Fast, hard and rebellious this song kicks ass! The title track “Ages Unsung” wraps up this album with a bang. Blasting from start to finish with rich drum-bass rhythm, harmonizing vocal innuendo range accompanied by hypnotic guitar runs weaving throughout.
Every song on this album is written in a way that the listener will notice something new in each piece after multiple plays. Executed with precision, incorporating an enjoyable amount of melody with death metal energy, “Unsung Ages” is an exceptional release from this independent band.
