Chrysalis Album Review
"Focus On The Center"
By; The Asian Invasion
Hey folks, The Asian Invasion here with another album review. This time it's a band from California who are known as Chrysalis.
"Focus On The Center" is their newest album and it is very interesting in my book. Musically this band is pretty solid as there are some pretty heavy riffs and rhythmically charged precision. 'Sounds of The Playground' is the opener and after a bit of an electronic intro, it heads right down metal alley.
The production quality is flawless as the whole thing just sounds huge. There's something here for everyone; some chugging heavy metal guitars and drums, some prog noodling and some electronic samples that sound rather fantastic.
'Ms. Me' and 'My Forsaken' are another couple of standout tracks that really run over the listener. There's some nice clean passages throughout and although these cats are fairly unknown on the scene, I could see them make waves in a few years.
As long as this band stays more to the techy side of things and less on the screamo forays, they'll be making solid music for years to come.
Until next time, stay metal!
