ZANG: Your newest album is called “I am God” can you explain how you came up with that title??
Csaba :Thanks for the interest for "Exorcism" and this starts up with a great question. "I am God" is the story in the heavens or the feud between God and at that time his right hand and favourite angel "Satan". He wanted to be God-like and challenged him so he was cast out and thrown down to rule the World.
I personally always thought this to be an interesting topic. "I am God" stands out controverse, iconic and to some extend provocative. At the same time I'd like to point out that I'm just telling a story.
Zang: What bands and/or musicians influenced you the most when you were growing up?
Csaba: In the early days we would listen to Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, AC/DC then later DIO and many other cool bands from the 80's and 90's.
Zang: What current bands grab your attention and stand out among the others?
Csaba: Honestly I don't find the time to familiarise myself with the newer bands and stay therefore pretty "old school".
Zang: What is the most memorable show you guys have played?
Csaba: As for me personally the show that was pretty big was opening up for AC/DC's Black Ice World tour in Paris in the Stade de France arena back in 2010. Well that was something.
Zang: Your band has played in many different shows, which venue is your favorite to play in? And why?
Csaba: GRASPOP METAL MEETING short GMM in Belgium is my favourite. The high level of professionalism and overall hospitality is superb. The size of the venue and with all them great metalheads it's a pleasure to play there.
Zang: What is the largest crowd you guys have played in front of?
Csaba: All of these major festivals have a pretty large audience ranging from 50-80 thousand people. Just for a single show I would say the above mentioned AC/DC show that I did. They were counting 80'000 people in the stadium.
Zang: Name a band you would love to tour with?
Csaba: If there would be a possibility to turn back time it would be DIO, RAINBOW but also BLACK SABBATH, AC/DC or IRON MAIDEN.
Zang: What vocalist influenced you? and prior to being in the band did you have any professional Vocal training?
Csaba: Yes, I was trained with all sorts of drills in the music academy. Ear, rhythm, score training, singing solo and in a choir plus various classical instruments. My vocal influences are so many. Ronnie James Dio, Rob Halford, Brian Johnson,Tony Martin but also Chris Thompson.
Zang: If you could collaborate with any artist(s) in the world who would it be? And why
Csaba: It would be interesting to hear myself on a Jimmy Hendrix album ?
Zang: What type of reception have you received since “(I am God) ” has been released?
Csaba: In general the feedback is very good with lots of high notes and even best notes. Still the record hasn't even been released yet.
Zang: Briefly describe the bands writing process.
Csaba: Everything pretty much is laid out and written by me. However the players individually interpret and make it their own parts so it becomes their own style
Zang: So what’s next for (Exorcism)? Any major touring news that your fans should know about?
There will be all kinds of goodies. First of all we would like to bring the music to the masses. Several festivals have confirmed Exorcism for 2014. Also a tour and video clip is planned for this year.
Thanks for this great interview
