FRIEDMAN has spent the last decade living in Japan, where he has released numerous solo albums and become a pop culture celebrity via numerous televised appearances and national commercial campaigns. As he recently told Noisey/Vice, "On paper, it sounds weird to leave a multi-platinum band and start from ground zero, but I just knew I could reach my potential so much more by being in Japan…I looked at the Top 10 in Japan and I’d like nine of the songs, and I looked at the Top 10 in America and I’d maybe like one of them. So, I’m a musician—where should I be? It was that simple."
"Inferno," FRIEDMAN's first album to be released simultaneously worldwide since leaving Megadeth, features several high-profile guest appearances by the likes of Rodrigo y Gabriela, Danko Jones, Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom) and Dave Davidson (Revocation). It also includes the song "Horrors," FRIEDMAN's first songwriting collaboration with Jason Becker since the pair played together in the highly influential act Cacophony. FRIEDMAN discusses reuniting with Becker extensively in the new issue of Guitar World, calling "Horrors" "definitely one of the most intense moments on the record."
