"With Serpents Scourge"

Necrowretch is a metal band all the way from lovely France. What isn't lovely about these french metallers is their brutal and vicious take on metal. Love is not something you think about when you listen to their new album "With Serpents Scourge" and that is exactly the kick start you get when you pop on the first song.
'Black Death Communion' starts the mayhem off and if you're looking for heavy with a side of Satan, you've found it. The treble is turned all the way to 11 and it's raw as hell, just the way it should be. The second track 'Feast Off Their Doom' is just as uncompromising as the first song. The tempo chugs hard and what I really like about it is the riffs. It's not just noise, it's actually quite memorable. Good on these boys for making me hum the song in my head after a few listens.
It's a very interesting take on death metal which has many black metal influences, but not completely in the black metal forum. Intensity is the perfect way to sum up this release as the ferocity is prevalent throughout the entire listening session.
It's around 35 minutes long, so it's done with pretty fast but while it lasts it's pure chaos. The unrelenting blast beats and double bass, the epic tremolo riffage and endless thrashing make this album a true keeper.
A solid 3.5 / 5 from me.
