Hello metal heads! This is an impromptu of last night’s show of Black Sabbath. The reason for this is because I wanted to clear the air about a few things. One, BLACK SABBATH STILL CAN KICK FUCKING ASS LIVE! Two, Just because the drummer isn’t the original one does NOT mean that it Isn’t Black fucking Sabbath! Three, Drugs, alcohol, cancer or anything else have not been able to take down or SLOW down these monsters of rock!
Now that I got that out of the way, let me explain a bit more about the statement above in more detail!
The concert I saw was fucking amazing! It was one of the best high energy shows out there! It had everything. From Ozzy doing his aerobics on stage (bunny hops, clapping of the hands, waving of the arms in the air and even his shuffle that we all have gotten to know and love!), Toni addressing the crowd while bending his strings on his guitar in the same fashion as you would find David Gilmore doing the same thing to make his guitar create notes that only they can define, to Geezer Butler having that base as it was a part of him, gripping the neck of it and bringing the hard crunch of the bass to live with each pluck of the strings! However who was it we were missing? Oh yes, Bill Ward, who had some issues with Ozzy so he was unable to join up on this tour due to some dis agreements. That did not stop the touring drummer Tommy Clufetos (Ozzy’s Osbourne, Rob Zombie and Alice Coopers drummer to name a few) From beating the SHIT out of the skins of the drum and even give one hell of a fucking amazing drum solo complete with lighting effects as he showed off his talent!
Ozzy still played to the crowd as he always did, screaming out the “I can’t hear you…. I still can’t FUCKING HEAR YOU’s and the I want to see you raise your hands and clap for me!, even to getting people involved in the opening song of “War Pigs” he soaked up every cheer that the crowd gave for him and gave it all back with the style we got to know and love.
There were a couple of times where Ozzy did look a little lost on the stage. I caught times where he was going to dunk his head into the bucket or head off to do something only to realize he had more of the song to sing, but he didn’t miss a beat at all, he kept going strong and had everything timed perfectly. He even went as far as to dump one of the buckets of water on a security guard, the security guard didn’t move but had a smile on his face and threw a fist in the air in celebration that Ozzy chose him.
This 16 song set, with a couple of teaser songs, that they hit us with had great songs like Paranoid, War Pigs, Fairies wear boots, God is dead just to name a few! Ozzy even had some great video clips of some big ass titties on the screen during a few songs as well!
This concert took you back in time to where they were in there prime and even though they couldn’t move as much as they used to be able to they still had a lot of fun, had the perfect timing for everything and Ozzy’s voice was still as powerful and amazing as ever!
And the end of their set, Jordan Cook the lead singer/guitarist climbed over the barrier and played for the first few rows even going as far as climbing on chairs to play their song then toss the guitar back on the stage and walk off stage right through the first row of the crowd and the rest of the band leave the stage at the same time! Quite fucking epic of you ask me!
As for their music, very Led Zeppelin like, with hints of Tea Party and a few other bands out there, but fitting to open for Black Sabbath!
So all in all this concert was well worth its weight in the price of admission and I’m glad I got to go and cross this band off of my bucket list of bands to see live!
For now I’m PK saying ROCK ON and we will see you next time!
