Dash is here, back with you via Broken Neck Radio, constantly bringing you metal, and nothing but metal…oh yeah, here it is.
I have the pleasure of bringing you the pure metal sounds out of London. Yes Metalheads, it’s Savage Messiah! Savage Messiah was formed in London in 2007 out of their disdain for all that is non-metal and their drive to create authentic head-banging music. The former Londoner in me was quite excited to dive in!
Now, to the music…
The opening track “Iconocaust” starts out quite melodic, but then opens up that can of metal-whip ass, letting us know that Savage Messiah is still here and proving to us that they are ready for us to bang our heads,
“Cross of Babylon” is such a throwback to when metal ruled the world. Machine gun vocals, profound musicianship, and kick-ass metal. This is their anthem.
“Live as One Already Dead”, I don’t think that I’ve heard guitar this good in a long time. Sexy and mesmerizing. May not have been what they were going for, but that’s what I got from it. Hot!
Their title track “The Fateful Dark”, takes no prisoners in its hard hitting start and solid rhythm throughout.
The tortured vocals in the beginning of “Zero Hour” are pretty awesome, and the change ups work really well for the song, certainly took me for a ride. How metal is supposed to be.
“Hammered Down” opens with an eerie vocal, perhaps of a serial killer, and the song speaks of the justice system in its flawed nature. A really profound song, again with the amazing guitar.
Horns up to Savage Messiah for keeping real metal alive. It was fucking awesome to take a metal journey with these London boys. You need this album for your metal library folks.
As always, thanks for checking out the reviews \m/
