Let’s get to the music…
The first track “Breathless” is very much an ode to 80’s metal. Udo’s vocals are exactly how they were back in the day-still raspy, unusual, and unique.
The title track, “Decadent” starts out with some quite heavy hitting drums and guitar. This is a song with very grinding force-with some speaking thrown in to the mix, very reminiscent of “Balls to the Wall”. A really great ending with fast and melodic guitars.
“Rebels of the Night”, a solid rock-n-roll song.
“Under Your Skin” is fast heavy metal at its best. Udo has mentioned in interviews that this is one of his favorite tunes on the album. I can see why. Truly authentic metal.
I could go on and on about every track, but I can honestly say that each of the songs off of “Decadent” really leave an impact. This is metal at its core (even a rock ballad thrown in). I’m a sucker for the 80’s edge that this album has-very gritty as a lot of the good metal bands in the 80’s were. U.D.O. has had a few different line-ups and guitarists, but this seems to do the trick. Thoroughly enjoyed this one from U.D.O.
As always, thank you so very much for reading the reviews \m/
