Forged in 2010 in the dismal town of Radauti, Romania
Over the course of four years and varying lineups, the band – now featuring Alex Cozaciuc (lead guitars, programming, drums, keyboards), Denis Ungurean (vocals, ex-Donkerland), Iulia Bulancea (bass), Orza Radu (drums), Cosmin Farcau (rhythm guitars) and Florentin Popa (keyboards) – has released one demo, one EP and the “Hierophant Of The Night” single written in memory of Lifelover’s Jonas Bergqvist, each release proving more traumatic than the next both in sound and spirit.
Personally I have never really given Doom Metal a serious listen to so this was in fact my first serious listen.
When Track 1 Portrait of Rust began I wasn’t sure what to expect… The introduction reminded me of something out of Lord of the Rings.
As it moved further along through the song I began to enjoy it more and more…looking forward to track 2..
Track 2 Mirrors of flesh began, being that im a Thrash lover by heart I found this to be a little too slow.
Im sure though that a true fan of Doom would seriously enjoy it…
Proceeding through the rest of the album provides true fans of the Doom sub-genre with the true feelings of pure melancholy, the lyrics deliver in the same sense from song to song with absolute despair and distrust in the future of mankind.
This album has certainly drawn me a new interest in Doom Metal. If you’re a fan of Doom Metal then I highly recommend this album. Its ability to surface despair and sadness into the listener is very overpowering.
Normally I would rate this out of 10 , however, ive never listened to much Doom Metal Beforehand so I am just strongly recommending this album if you’re a true fan of Doom Metal…
If you’re a heavily depressed person as it is then this isn’t the album for you
